MLS Homegrown Division

Penn Rising XI is a member of the MLS NEXT Homegrown Division, the highest level of youth soccer competition offered in the country. Players in this program have access to highest pedigree of competition, training, development, and exposure to best prepare players for their future in soccer. Penn Rising is the newest founded member of the MLS NEXT, and just one of 4 clubs in Eastern Pennsylvania who participate in the platform.

MLS ACADEMY DIVISION

Penn Rising XI’s second level U13-U19 teams compete in the MLS NEXT Academy Division, the second highest level of youth soccer competition offered in the country. Players in this program have access to highest pedigree of competition, training, development, and exposure to collegiate opportunities. Penn Rising XI MLS Academy Division players will also have exposure and cross pollination with the MLS Homegrown program to best develop players. 

NATIONAL ACADEMY LEAGUE

Penn Rising XI’s third level U13-U19 teams compete in the National Academy League. This league is comprised of MLS clubs' 2nd/3rd tier teams and MLS-aspiring clubs’ top-level teams competing in a club v club format. This platform serves a bridge program to deliver a high-quality development league and standards to players who are aspiring to compete in our MLS platform. This league allows players an opportunity to experience the same technical standards as the MLS Next league, while the club aims to develop and promote players to the appropriate level of play. 

EDP LEAGUE

Penn Rising XI’s fourth level boys teams compete in the EDP Premier leagues. EDP provides a very competitive platform which prides itself on best vs best in a promotion/relegation format. The best teams in each league are able to earn promotion from the regionalized leagues into the RAL, and from RAL into National 1 league, which provides a pathway to the National Championships. These teams regularly train with and against our NAL teams and are continually evaluated for movement up and down to find the best fit for them individual players’ growth.

ZONE 1 (U8-U12)

Penn Rising XI’s U8-U12 programming offers a robust, player-centric approach to ensure each player and team has the ability to develop at the appropriate speed. Our top-level teams compete in ACELA league. This league is comprised of the best clubs in PAE, NJ, DE, & MD. The Acela League offers a great opportunity to expose players to high level of competition and best prepare them for the rigors of the MLS NEXT platform. We also have teams which compete more locally in the Inter County Soccer League,  and Central League.

We believe in preparing our Zone 1 players through high intensity technical training, and increasing demands on players through providing the opportunity to play/train up. Teams regularly co-train with and against one another. Our coaches are energized, passionate and instructed to foster love of the game and confidence on the ball.
